Our virtual certificate program is flexible and customizable, allowing you to continue working and still finish in less than a year, while learning essential skills in Python and Java Programming, data structures, and algorithms.

Students will be able to:
- Write, analyze, debug, and apply computer programs to computational problem solving and data analysis
- Communicate algorithmic and computational ideas and concepts correctly and clearly in both oral and written forms using logical reasoning and appropriate terminology and symbolic representation
Tuition Information
The Computer Science Certificate is $500 per unit for students who are not currently enrolled at Saint Mary's College of California. The cost per course is $2000 (each course is 4 units), and the total certificate cost for the three required courses is $6000.
Current undergraduate students taking courses towards the certificate within the semester course load of 12-18 units will not incur an additional charge. Registration for more than 18 units incurs an overload charge. For current undergraduate students, please see the tuition and fees information on the business office website for more information.
Refund Policies
Tuition refund policies follow the college polices for programs on the semester system
- Withdrawal in the first week of the term is a full refund of tuition.
- Withdrawal in the second week is an 80% refund of tuition.
- Withdrawal in the third or fourth week is a 75% refund of tuition.
- Withdrawal from a program after the fourth week is a 0% refund of tuition

Saint Mary’s is approved to offer the fully Online Certificate in Computer Science to students who reside in one of the following states:
Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indianna, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
